Unlocking equitable, insight-driven learning for every Australian secondary school

Press Release

SYDNEY, 18 JUNE 2025: Today, leading educational software provider Education Perfect (EP) announced that its assessmentโ€‘focused subscription package,โ€ฏEPโ€ฏStarter, is now free of charge to all Australian secondary schools for the remainder ofโ€ฏ2025. For schools with limited time and resources, EPโ€ฏStarter helps teachers identify and close learning gaps at scale and deliver meaningful student support with maximum efficiency.

Australiaโ€™s academic performance continues to diverge along funding lines. Just 2% of public schools currently receive the funding they are entitled to, while the majority stretch diminished budgets to cover essential resources. When budgets are tight, the data, time and tools teachers need to power dataโ€‘driven decision making are often out of reach.

In EPโ€™s recent survey of more than 400 teachers across Australia and Newโ€ฏZealand, respondents said that if budgets and resourcing were not a barrier, technology and AI integration would be their top priority for improving classroom impact. EPโ€ฏStarter answers that call, bringing readyโ€‘made, curriculumโ€‘aligned assessments, AIโ€‘powered quiz creation and live growth analytics into a single, streamlined platform that takes less than an hour to set up.

EPโ€ฏStarter provides a library of curriculumโ€‘aligned diagnostics for Yearsโ€ฏ7-10 Mathematics and beginner Languages, with Science to follow in term 3. Teachers can assign an assessment in minutes; once students complete it, a live dashboard maps mastery against every curriculum code, pinpointing precisely where teaching time will have the greatest effect. Oneโ€‘click learning recommendations then move each learner into targeted lessons or practice tasks, closing the loop between diagnosis and remediation, all within EPโ€™s platform.

For ongoing checks, EPโ€ฏStarterโ€™s AIโ€‘powered quiz builder generates curriculum-aligned questions in seconds, ideal for assessing where each student is at, at any point in their learning journey, whilst tailoring content to the needs and interests of the class. Sideโ€‘byโ€‘side growth reports make it easy to compare any two assessments and celebrate progress, while classโ€‘wide analytics surface trends and individual needs at a glance.

In short, EPโ€ฏStarter gives teachers the data, content and workflow tools they value most, without the administrative overhead or licence cost that too often puts powerful technology out of reach.

Introducing a new subscription tier at no cost for 6 months is part of EPโ€™s broader pledge to expand equitable access in education. By removing cost barriers, EP aims to ensure that every Australian student, regardless of postcode or school budget, can benefit from assessmentโ€‘driven, personalised learning. Alongside Maths and beginner Languages, EP will roll out Yearsโ€ฏ7-10 Science assessments in Termโ€ฏ3โ€ฏ2025, which will also be included in the free EPโ€ฏStarter package.

โ€œGreat teaching shouldnโ€™t depend on how much money a school can spend,โ€ said Jamesโ€ฏSanture, Head of Product Impact at Education Perfect. โ€œBy weaving curriculumโ€‘aligned assessments into EPโ€ฏStarter, and initially making the package free, weโ€™re amplifying teacher impact and ensuring equitable access to worldโ€‘class learning across multiple subjects. Every student deserves the chance to master core skills, and every Australian teacher deserves tools that work straight out of the box.โ€

<>Julia Min, Math product advisor and Maths Teacher, said:ย  โ€œAs a maths teacher, this new product is an excellent tool which gives teachers many options on assessing their students. It is gamechanging in the sense that it gives immediate, actionable insights into where students are at, allowing them to assign tasks to address any potential gaps in their learning in real time. The learning snapshot reports are a great way for teachers tracking progressโ€”they make it so easy to see exactly where each student is struggling or excelling. And the new lessons with the built-in difficulty model are fantastic. Maths teachers can tailor the learning experience to meet the needs of every student, ensuring they stay engaged and challenged at the right level. This product isnโ€™t just a tool; itโ€™s a partner in ensuring students reach their full potential.โ€

Camilla Andrews, Mountain Creek State High School, said: โ€œItโ€™s so handy and quick to do, find out what my students know, and what to teach next. My class is made up of multi -level classes, so it helps with what classes to teach next.โ€
